Red Sea crisis explained: what is happening and what does it mean for global trade?Attacks from the Houthis on shipping vessels have increased in response to the war in Gaza, with BP halting all shipments of oil and gas through the region Houthi rebels in Yemen have significantly stepped up attacks on commercial shipping vessels travelling through the lower Red Sea since mid-November in response to Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. On some occasions, Houthis have boarded or sought to board merchant tankers; on others, they have targeted cargo ships with drones and missiles. Damage has been minimal in most cases, but in mid-November, one tanker, the Galaxy Leader, was successfully hijacked. Threats have escalated further in the past week, to the point where Maersk, MSC and other shipping groups have halted or rerouted traffic, while the US has announced a maritime coalition to defend shipping against attacks. So far nobody has been killed, but the situation remains tense. Why is the southern Red Sea so significant? continued: www.theguardian.com/business/2023/dec/19/red-sea-shipping-crisis-bp-oil-explained-what-is-happening-and-what-does-it-mean-for-global-trade

US-led coalition of 10 nations to counter Houthi attacks on vessels in Red Sea
US defense secretary Lloyd Austin announces Operation Prosperity Guardian, in cooperation with UK, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain
The United States on Monday announced a 10-nation coalition to quell Houthi missile and drone attacks on ships transiting the Red Sea, with Britain, France, Bahrain and Italy among countries joining the “multinational security initiative.”
“Countries that seek to uphold the foundational principle of freedom of navigation must come together to tackle the challenge posed by this non-state actor,” US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said in a statement late-light Monday.
Iran-backed Houthi rebels have escalated attacks on tankers, cargo ships and other vessels in the Red Sea, imperiling a transit route that carries up to 12 percent of global trade..............
I did hear something this morning about Spain France an maybe UK not being happy with US defense secretary Lloyd Austin The Spanish government was displeased on Monday when the U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin included Spain in the 10 countries that were going to participate in Operation Prosperity Guardian, commanded by the United States, without prior notice. I couldn't find much more info on it.....
While I dont yet think this is the final form of a 10 nation confederacy mentioned in scripture it is interesting to watch how this might transform into what is spoken of in book of Daniel.
Im intrigued its forming on the Waters of the sea rather than land and that its over the commerce that travels through the Water Ways of the Red sea any one who controls this Sea has great power as the article above explains.
Thus he said: “The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom on the earth, which will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth and tread it down and crush it. As for the ten horns, out of these kingdom ten kings will arise; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will subdue three kings.” (NASB) Dan. 7:23-24
Unfortunately, we do not know the precise identity of these ten nations.
Untied States Scripture is also silent about the future role of the United States. Does this mean that the United States has no role? The answer is unknown. It is possible that we are connected to the revived Roman empire in some way since scripture tends to focus more on a group of people rather than on geographical location. Scripture is usually more interested in a lineage rather than the borders of a nation. Since the Roman empire was primarily of European nations, and since most of the United States has been of European descent. (The 10 lost tribes of Israel traveled into these European nations)
