Lake of Fire? Terrifying new planet with oceans of lava has been discovered A new planet discovered by scientists has oceans of lava covering its surface. The hellish planet is called GJ 367b, and it’s roughly 30 light-years away from the Earth. The new planet is smaller than Earth — around three-quarters the size to be exact. That makes it larger than Mercury, but somewhat smaller than Mars. more: endtimeheadlines.org/2021/12/terrifying-new-planet-with-oceans-of-lava-has-been-discovered/

What is the lake of fire? Why does God need a lake of fire? When will it be used? Are both humans and spirits thrown into it? Are those subjected to its flames tormented forever or put out of existence? The phrase "lake of fire" is used four times in the King James Bible (Revelation 19:20, 20:10, 14, 15). Jesus used the constant flames in the Hinnom valley to symbolize the destructive nature of this fiery lake used to carry out God's judgment. Jesus stated, in his famous Sermon on the Mount, "Do not be afraid of those (other humans) who kill the body, but do not have power to destroy the life; rather, fear Him Who has the power to destroy both life and body (their entire existence) in Gehenna (lake of fire)" (Matthew 5:28). The fire in the lake is sometimes mentioned in conjunction with brimstone (Revelation 19:20, 20:10, 21:8), which is a highly combustible mineral that produces a suffocating smell. Its flames are referred to as unquenchable (Matthew 3:12), like a furnace (13:42) or oven (Malachi 4:1) and having an effect that is eternal (Matthew 25:41, 46). more: www.biblestudy.org/maturart/the-lake-of-fire.html?fbclid=IwAR3gtRxB6b9x-OtcXDMhqZFKSRABO55IeaC3C8zEfXeHqtT_BmvjwBz_Vb4

I personally think the lake of fire is here on the earth perhaps starting as a small region typified by Gehenna and then on a massive scale to burn up the earth to renovate it for the new heavens and earth. Pragmatically speaking, a large asteroid could do that. However, using a hot planet such as a hot Jupiter won't be out of the question. Then there's one other spiritual view. God is described as an all consuming fire, so the fire (aish in Hebrew) of the Lord, His very Spirit could burn up the sin and sinner by destroying anything not holy and preserving the that tried in the fire as gold. That said, this fire still conflagrates physical things such as the earth so that it still needs to burn up. The issue is will it be the Lord himself, or will an asteroid do? I have no problem with the spiritual view at all.
